More ways to learn,
create, play & explore.
HPTO coordinates optional after-school extracurricular classes three times each school year for Hopkinton students in grades K–5.
Class offerings change each session and are designed to give students opportunities to discover new interests, build skills, and continue exploring activities they already enjoy.
After-school opportunities right at school.
Three times during the school year, HPTO offers a new session of extracurricular classes for students in grades K–5.
Each session features a variety of activities designed to appeal to different ages and interests. Offerings vary from session to session, giving students opportunities to try something new or continue developing an existing interest.
Try something new. Build on something you love.
Extracurricular activities give students another way to explore interests outside the traditional school day. They can discover something new, strengthen a skill, spend time with classmates, or simply have fun doing something they enjoy.

A few quick answers.
How often are extracurricular sessions offered?
HPTO coordinates three extracurricular sessions during the school year.
Who can participate?
HPTO extracurriculars are offered to Hopkinton students in grades K–5. Individual classes may have specific grade-level eligibility.
Are the same classes offered every session?
No. Offerings change throughout the year based on instructor availability, schedules, interest and other program considerations.
How do I know which classes my child can register for?
Each session includes school-specific class information with eligible grades, descriptions, dates and times.
What if a class sells out?
Use the waitlist process above. If space becomes available, families will be contacted according to the program’s waitlist process.
Is financial assistance available for extracurricular classes?
Yes. Financial assistance is available to families who are currently unable to pay for extracurricular classes due to financial hardship.
How do I apply for financial assistance?
When the class catalog is released, review the available classes and choose a first-choice and alternate class for each student.
Then complete the Financial Assistance Request Form:
APPLY FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
After your request is reviewed, the HPTO Extracurricular Director will follow up with a registration code that allows you to register for the approved class at no cost.
When should I submit my request?
Families requesting financial assistance are encouraged to submit the form before registration opens whenever possible. Classes can fill quickly, and submitting early gives us the best opportunity to help you secure one of your preferred classes.
How many classes can financial assistance cover?
Each student may receive financial assistance for one class per session — fall, winter, and spring.
Do I need to provide proof of financial hardship?
HPTO reserves the right to confirm financial hardship with the Hopkinton School District when needed, such as confirming qualification for the district's free lunch program.
What classes should I list on the form?
Please provide both a first-choice class and an alternate class for each student. Because class availability can change quickly, including an alternate helps us assist you if your first choice fills.
What happens after I submit the form?
The HPTO Extracurricular Director will review your request and follow up with a registration code. You will use that code during registration to enroll in the approved class at no cost.
